During the neighborhood festival „Sankt Pieschen 2025“, we had the opportunity to unleash our latest toy in public. It is a digital mirror that modifies and stylizes a video input by using a trained AI model.

Our technical goal was for the installation to work locally and without an internet connection. Additionally, the mirror should to be built only with existing hardware. This made the task a bit more complex, but upcycling of obsolete technology was important to us.

Fortunately, we managed to crack this nut and the installation now runs autonomously on a 10-year-old gaming PC. Considering the rapid pace of Computer Power in the field of AI, this is practically some kind of Stone Age technology.
